“It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.”
Daniel 2:22

I believe Jesus is encouraging us to take time to pray this year because God is going to reveal life changing instructions for those who seek out His counsel. Our prayer time will bring us into His revelational light which translates into knowledge and wisdom for us.

When studying the word light, I discovered something very powerful about its meaning in the original Hebrew and Aramaic languages. One meaning is a connection of God to man through the Holy Spirit and another conveys the wisdom and knowledge of God. When we read scriptures that express light in this context such as Daniel 2:22 it becomes a profound revelation. We’re being told that the light of Christ shines knowledge, wisdom, discernment, and counsel on those who seek Him. This means we don’t have to be in the dark anymore about what God’s Will is for our life and He’ll reveal it to us in our quiet time of prayer.

One of the mystery’s revealed to us in Romans 8:11 is an astonishing truth about the Power within us. We’re told that the Spirit of Resurrection lives in all Believers. This is the same Spirit that moved upon the surface of the waters to create the Earth. He’s the same Spirit who overshadowed Mary as a weary world watched the Creator become part of His Creation. He then raised Jesus from the dead and now He abides in every Believer! Please take a moment to meditate on this unfathomable truth. Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending love of God!

We serve a God who created us because He wanted to share Himself with us. And when we lost our way, He became the Way home. He knew our minds would never be able to comprehend all He is, so He lowered Himself to our level. He became one of us, so we could see who He was from our level of understanding.

We serve one God who chose to reveal Himself in three distinct persons – Father, Son, and Spirit. His light and presence are so powerful we could only see the Father through the person of Jesus and abide in Him through the person of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because we’re told no one can see the Father in the flesh and survive, so He made a way for us to be reconciled to Him through Jesus and His Spirit.  If you’re wondering how He can do such a thing it’s purely because He’s God and we’re not!

It’s a very simple thing for Him to do which makes His power and greatness immeasurable, and the idea that He wants to share this power with His children is even more staggering. Next time you sit down to pray, remember the place from which you’re praying and to whom you’re praying too. This powerful Creator wants to be called Father by His creation.

In Exodus 34:6-7 God declares that He is the God of compassion. “The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “The Lord! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty.”

The word compassion in Latin means to ‘bear or suffer along with’ and when we read through scriptures about our God’s compassion for His children it leads me to ask this one question. Why would we not want to run to Him in prayer every day knowing that it’s our very weakness that draws Him to us? In 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 we’re told His Power is made perfect in our weakness and in Psalm 136:23 that He remembers us in our weakness and His faithful love endures forever! He wants to walk along side us and take our heavy burdens upon Himself.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

Oh Beloved, we have an awesome God! He can be trusted because He is faithful and has made a way no matter how far off the path you have strayed. He loves you with an everlasting love and is drawing you near with His lovingkindness. Read what He’s saying to you right now and receive it into your heart. He’s freeing you to love and be loved unconditionally and who the Son sets free, is free indeed!

“I have gone into your future to prepare the way, and in kindness I follow behind you to spare you from the harm of your past. With My hand of love upon your life, I will impart a blessing to you. I will restore everything you lost; I will have compassion on you; I will come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered. No matter how far away you end up, I, your God, will get you out of there and bring you back to the land your ancestors once possessed. It will be yours again. I, your God, will cut away the thick calluses on your heart and your children’s hearts, freeing you to love Me with your whole heart and soul and live, really live.” (Psalm 139:5-6, Deuteronomy 30:1-5, Psalm 42:5-7)

ABOUT Marie Scinto
Marie Scinto "You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
