Back to School Drive

Acts 4 is preparing to help children in need start the school year with confidence—equipped with the clothing and supplies they need to succeed.

Donate to our 21st Annual Back to School Drive!

Now through Friday, September 12, we are accepting donations of school uniforms and supplies for children of all ages during our regular operating hours.

The uniforms & supplies will be given free or at low costs to children throughout the Greater Waterbury region during our annual Back to School “Swap and Shop” event starting August 1.

Donations Needed: New or gently used uniform tops and bottoms, all sizes. The colors that help the most are listed below.

Donation Drop-off:

  • Location: Acts 4 Ministry, 1713 Thomaston Avenue, Waterbury
  • Hours: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Monetary Donations:

  • By Mail: Acts 4 Ministry, Inc., PO Box 4524, Waterbury, CT 06704. Include a memo “Back to School drive”.
  • Online: Visit acts4.org, click the red donate button, and select “Back to School drive” under ‘Apply my gift to’. This ensures your generosity goes towards helping as many kids as possible when they head back to school in the fall.

Your support ensures that children in need will have the necessary tools and clothing to start their school year with confidence. Thank you for your generosity!

Do you know of or have children that are in need of a school uniform for the 2025-2026 school year?

Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays starting August 1, we provide free & low cost uniforms along with book bags filled with school supplies. Our hours are 9:00 AM, with the last appointment available at 1:30 PM. To receive credit towards the purchase of a new uniform:

  • Bring in your child’s gently used uniform from last school year
  • A parent or guardian photo ID
  • Child’s social security card or birth certificate
  • Income verification is required

Limited daily access, walk ins welcome, but appointments highly encouraged. We look forward to helping you start the school year! If you have questions please call please call 203.574.2287 or email info@acts4.org.

Thousands of Connecticut residents have dedicated their careers to public service. The federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program recognizes this choice with complete student loan cancellation after 10 years of public service work and loan payments. Teachers, nurses, government and nonprofit employees, veterans and others are among those eligible for this program.

CT Statewide Respite Care Program:

There is funding available for the Respite Care Program.  This program is a short term option designed to provide a break from the physical and emotional stress of caregiving.  Services may include: adult day care, home health aide, personal care assistants, homemaker, companion, skilled nursing, or short term assisted living or nursing home care. Funds may be used for day or night respite. A mandatory assessment must be completed before respite services are provided. Eligibility requirements include: the client must have formal diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or irreversible dementia, income cannot exceed $46,897 a year and liquid assets cannot exceed $124,679.
