“Whoever is of God hears the Words of God.” John 8:47

Because of Jesus, all Believers have a relationship with our Father God. Therefore, He will speak to each of us differently based on our unique personalities. For some, they may hear an audible voice, while others may suddenly understand His truth.

In A.W. Tozer’s book, The Pursuit of God, he wrote:

“It is important that we get still to wait on God. And it is best that we get alone, preferably with our Bible outspread before us. Then, if we will, we may draw near to God and begin to hear Him speak to us in our hearts.”

By getting alone with God and His Word you will develop a conversational relationship with Him and become aware when He is sending a message to you. There are times I go to bed asking for help in understanding certain spiritual truths. The next day He always answers in a specific way that I will hear Him.

He will either direct me to a teaching or book that houses the answer; or at times, I wake up speaking the answer. It is as if I am dictating the information directly from Holy Spirit. I know it is from God because I will remember it verbatim, and it never will leave my mind even after fully waking up. One such occasion happened last month.

I woke up saying, “There are vargus spirits that satan uses as a frontline attack to weaken you. You must be aware of them and confront them immediately. If they succeed and penetrate your mind, it will make room for the wave of attacks that are stronger which can steal, kill, and destroy My people. I have given you everything you need to battle these demons and be victorious. My Word is your weapon, you can counter-attack with it, and win every time. It is a battle of the mind, but you have been given the mind of Christ, and no weapon can be formed against it. Know your enemy and know My Word.”

There is a famous quote from a book called, The Art of War, by a military general named Sun Tzu.

“Know your enemy!”

In it he wrote:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

This is such a powerful truth within a Biblical spiritual warfare context.

Our war is not being waged with a flesh enemy, but the enemy uses the flesh as one of his targets to attack.

“For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.” (Ephesians 6:12-13)

In Ephesians 6:17 we are instructed to use the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, as one of our weapons to fight back. The Word of God is your weapon friends! You need to know who your enemy is and fight accordingly.

When I looked up the meaning of the word vargus, I knew I was hearing from God. It is a Latin word for a bandit, scoundrel, or vagrant. These words mean someone who steals, lies, and wanders place to place.

This describes demons perfectly. The Word of God tells us the enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy; and that he is a deceiver that prowls around looking for someone to devour. It also tells us demons are disembodied spirits wondering around looking for a body to inhabit because they have no place to rest otherwise.

Matthew 12:43 (vagrant)

“Now when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, it roams through waterless (dry, arid) places in search of rest, but it does not find it.”

John 10:10 (bandit)

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

John 8:44 (scoundrel)

“He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

God was showing me that for satan to attack a Believer, he needs to get into our mind first and weaken us. He needs us to agree with his lies and start manifesting the side effects in our bodies. Once we start speaking negative confessions of defeat, sickness, and death, we open another door for the next level of attack. It starts in the mind but will soon move to the body.

But God.

He showed us how to block those vargus spirits from getting in to kill, steal and destroy our lives. We need to fight this thing with our Full Armor on to defeat it. Know your enemy. Plan your battle. Win your war. Read Ephesians 6 to find out more.

Everything in Heaven and on Earth has a name. When we call our enemies out by name and use the NAME of Jesus, not only must demons bow their weak and obstinate knees to Him, but they must flee! So, resist it, He that is in us is greater! Nothing can stand against His name nor us when we have His power within us. (Philippians 2:10, James 4:7, 1 John 4:4, Romans 8:31, Romans 8:11)

As you continue to go deeper with God, His Word will become more than an object that sits on your nightstand or a book of reference on your shelf. It will become a voice speaking softly to you saying, ‘Be still and get to know Me, for I AM your Father.’

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO

Marie Scinto
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
