“So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” 2 Corinthians 4:18

Faith is a must in our spiritual journey and, thankfully, Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus is the author and perfecter of this gift from God. Faith comes by hearing the Word. Therefore, it is easy to attain, and no true Believer should ponder whether they have it or not.

Romans 10:17
So, faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

Faith is a redirecting of our natural sight to seeing God through the eyes of our hearts. Paul prayed in Ephesians 1:9 that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened, so that we may know the hope of His calling and the surpassing greatness of His power to us that believe. “Believing then,” wrote AW Tozer in The Pursuit of God, “is directing the heart’s attention to Jesus. It is lifting the mind to behold the Lamb of God and never ceasing that beholding for the rest of our lives.”

In Psalm 42:7, the psalmist cried out, ‘deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.’ He was in a place where he needed to work up his faith that was being drowned by his circumstances and longing for God’s Presence to be felt. Sound becomes very still deep underwater. We need to go deeper into a place where all distractions are muffled so that the only sound we hear is His still small Voice.

Isaiah 43:2
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

The eternal world will come alive to us the moment we begin to apprehend God daily through our spiritual senses. But distractions will shut down those senses, which is why we need to shut them out. Faith enables our spiritual senses to function. Through scripture, we can know Him deeper with the same degree of awareness that we use to know a person or thing through our five natural senses.  We see, hear, smell, taste, and touch in the natural with our physical senses, but we perceive things in the unseen realm with our spiritual senses. This can only happen through a deep-rooted relationship with God through His Word and consistent prayer.

We are instructed in 2 Corinthians 4:18 to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. The unseen realm is our eternal destination, and therefore it should be more real to us than what we are sensing in our seen world. Our faith creates nothing; it only opens our spiritual senses to what is already out there. God and the spiritual world are just as real as our reality and perception of this temporal world.

Friends, it is time to dive deeper with God and learn how to hear His Voice so He can direct and protect us on our journey. He wants us to have a good end to this life and bring us into His eternal Kingdom with our assignments complete and our jobs well done.

His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO

Marie Scinto

“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
