“But you, Beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21
Ephesians 2:8
“For by grace, you are saved through faith; and that is not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Step One: Receive it!
Faith is always a gift from God and never something that can be produced by people. Faith comes from the Greek word pístis which means to be persuaded to come to trust and believe. It is God’s divine persuasion, and He continuously grows it in the yielded Believer so they can know His will. When Jesus told people, “Your faith has made you well,” faith was still His gift. And, any gift received, becomes the possession of the recipient.
Step Two: Confess it!
I have heard it said that “Faith is like love; without words and actions, it cannot grow.”
Romans 10:17
“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard through the Word about Christ.”
Romans 12:3 says, “God hath dealt to every man ‘the’ measure of faith.” God did not give to you a smaller measure of His faith than He gave to anyone else. Your faith comes from God; therefore, it is God’s faith that you are confessing into your situation which is why it can move mountains. Faith from God being spoken into your obstacle sets it into motion immediately and you will begin to see action and growth. The word faith is an amazingly encouraging and powerful word to study. The more you understand how it works, the more you will receive the promises associated with it. God led me to an understanding about faith as being a part of His Nature. Since our faith comes from Him, it is part of His Being.
Step Three: Use it!
Scripture is a tool God uses to persuade us to trust Him. He is our Source for our faith. Therefore, if you need more, go to the Source. God reveals Himself to us when we hear the message about Christ and act upon it. Faith that comes from God will also bear fruit in your life. If you say you have faith but are not spurred on to use it to further God’s Kingdom with good deeds and giving, then you need to go to God with this and ask Him to show you where you are falling short. 2 Timothy 2:15 warns us to, “Do our best to present our self to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.” So, get about the Father’s business and be a doer, not just hearer of His Word. This will produce results which the Bible calls fruit and encourage you to continue to do good and not grow weary.
Step Four: Activate it!
Faith is an activator. It sets God’s Word into action. So, how do you activate your faith? Faith comes by hearing the Word first, then believing in what was heard, and that belief activates the powerful promises in scripture to which we are called to stand on. We are told not to doubt the Word or that will de-activate its power and immediately we will begin to sink into despondency.
Step Five: Continue in it!
Galatians 6:9
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Faith is a power source. And, like anything that runs on power you need to read the instructions first to make sure you are using it correctly. Do you realize the power that you are holding in you? If not, meditate on the faith scriptures daily to re-charge your mind. Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Faith is a must in our pursuit of God and thankfully Jesus is the author and perfecter of it. (Hebrews 12:2) Therefore, it is easy to attain, and no true Believer should ponder on whether they have it or not. Faith then, is a redirecting of our natural sight to seeing God through the eyes of our hearts. If you are having trouble walking in faith just cry out to Jesus, “Lord, help me!” like Peter did, and grab on to Him!
Step Six: Just believe!
In Mark 9:23 Jesus said, “All things are possible for the one who has faith.” To that a man yelled out, “Help me overcome my unbelief!” That appeal really encourages me and sustains my Hope because Jesus indeed helped him!
Years ago, I received a word from God. He said to me, “I know what you are going through, I AM in the midst of the chaos, and I AM going to rearrange things in your life so that it will not affect you.”
I spent the following years pursuing God to find out what He meant. What I found was that He was pursuing me the entire time and equipping me to overcome my obstacles! The deeper I pursued Him, the more He revealed Himself to me and the more my faith grew. I just needed to open my spiritual eyes, ears, and heart to see Him. If you find yourself being sucked into a vortex of vitriol within the chaos unfolding in our world; and your peace is in pieces, it is time to seek a genuine encounter with God. The experience is going to be different for each of us because it needs to be personal. He will reveal Himself, and when He does you will recognize that He has been with you the entire time. When you receive that truth, you will receive His peace, and nothing will be able to shake your faith.
Congratulations! You have completed all the steps to building your faith! In case of accidental stumbling refer to page 37 section 24 in the owner’s manual.

Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
