“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of Darkness into His wonderful Light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Kings and priests are chosen and called. The usage of the word royal in this scripture is used to describe something that pertains to a king or is characteristic of royalty. It conveys the idea of something that is regal, majestic, or befitting a king. In the New Testament, it is often used to describe the Kingdom of God. The usage of the word priest is used metaphorically to describe the community of Believers who are set apart to serve God, emphasizing their role in spiritual worship and service.
In Revelation 1:5-6, Believers in Jesus are called kings and priests. It says, “To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His Blood and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
That is a very high calling, and it is for every person who has made Jesus their Lord and Savior. Beloved, if you are a Believer reading this Blog you are a king and priest. You are royalty and have a purpose, plan, and calling in the Kingdom of God.
Ephesians 2:10 reads, “For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This is the heart of Poiema. The word workmanship in Greek is Poiema. This is where we get our word poem. You are God’s creation, His masterpiece. You have been created in Jesus to do good works. God has specific assignments He has planned out for you before you were born. They are written down like love letters and poems just for you!
That means you are no accident! No child in the womb is an accident. You have a purpose because God has a plan. Seeking Him is the start to finding out what those plans are and how He wants you to complete them. His Word is a gift to open and it is filled with His promises for you.
As we celebrate the first coming of our Lord and Savior this glorious and festive season, let us not forget He is coming again. The greatest gift He gave us was eternal life through His death. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO

“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
