“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3
Have you ever lost your car keys when you had an important appointment to which you couldn’t be late? I have. It’s amazing how quickly it robs you of your peace. Chaos ensues and no one in your path is safe from your fury to find them! Come on now, we’ve all been there!
The key to keeping your peace in times of uncertainty and frustration is understanding where it comes from and that it’s a supernatural Gift from God. The word supernatural means a downpour from Heaven and the word peace in Hebrew is Shalom. It means completeness, welfare, health, security, wholeness and perfect peace. God has you covered, friend, and He is pouring out His Love on you — continuously, completely and perfectly.
God is constantly bringing His children into His Glory. In there, we can experience His weighty Presence. It’s like a huge comforter wrapped around us.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
In the book series, The Chronicles of Narnia, a wardrobe is used to enter into a mystical land. Once the children stepped in, they were drawn into another world where they ultimately met a Lion named Aslan, a type of Christ. This is a great metaphor to explain how we enter into God’s Glory and go deeper into the Peace of Jesus.
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
We are told in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that Believers are being transformed into Christ’s image from glory to glory. The word ‘to’ as in glory ‘to’ glory has an ongoing connotation in scripture. You don’t just enter in and sit down; you enter in and move through — it’s a continual action. This is a daily process and if you want to experience the Glory of God and His Peace in your life, you need to be a seeker of His Presence and go deeper. When we hear the word deeper, we think down, but this is an upward move and you are being called to go further up and further in.
Beloved, God wants you to live in His Peace continually, especially during seasons of uncertainty. Invite the Father to be enthroned by your praises! Create a space for Him in your spirit and welcome His Peace into your heart.
“I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now… Come further up, come further in!” “But courage, child: we are all between the paws of the true Aslan.” The Last Battle, Chronicles of Narnia
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
