The Kings Carriage 🤴

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17(AMPC)

During a recent prayer call I heard Jesus say:

“Do you feel this? My romance? My love? My heart for you all? I love you. I long for you. I long for this time. My time to romance you. I AM calling you deeper. I AM piercing your heart with My scepter. I AM making you Mine. I AM making My Bride ready for her Groom. I AM cleaning out your heart from any worthless cares that take up space from Me.”

When Jesus told us He was piercing our hearts with His scepter, He was talking about our desires, wills, and deepest affections. He’s asserting His rightful sovereignty over our inner lives, dethroning self-will, and establishing His Kingdom within us. He’s readying us for a work of righteousness and deliverance, shattering the false rulers in our lives—such as fear, pride, anxiety, or past trauma. He’s readying His Bride, the Church.

Just as Esther found life and favor when the royal scepter was extended to her, a heart pierced by Christ’s scepter is granted ultimate access, intimacy, and the comforting assurance that the King of kings has personally claimed us as His own. In the Song of Solomon, we catch a glimpse of the King approaching his wedding day, traveling through the desert in a glorious procession:

“Behold, it is Solomon’s carriage, escorted by sixty of the mightiest men of Israel. All are skilled with the sword, experienced in warfare. Each has his sword at his side prepared for the terror of the night. King Solomon has made his carriage out of the timber of Lebanon. He has made its posts of silver, its base of gold, its seat of purple fabric. Its interior is inlaid with love by the daughters of Jerusalem.” — Song of Songs 3:7-10

This imagery is a metaphor for the Tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant. The materials—gold, silver, and royal purple—are the exact elements God commanded Moses to use when building the Ark and the holy sanctuary (Exodus 25). The carriage is surrounded by sixty elite warriors guarding it through the dangerous desert, mirroring how the Ark of the Covenant was carried through the wilderness, protected by the tribes of Israel encamped all around it. The interior seat of the carriage is lovingly inlaid, just as the top of the Ark was the Mercy Seat—the place where God’s presence met mankind, not in judgment, but in loving-kindness.

Jesus is Our Ark and Our Carriage

The Ark contained the law, the manna, and Aaron’s rod—representing God’s covenant promises, His provision, and His divine authority. But the Ark was sealed. It was an enclosed box. To be inside the Ark was to be completely covered and protected from the judgment outside, much like Noah’s Ark in the Genesis flood.

When You Place Your Faith in Jesus, You’re Placed in Him

Just as the bride sat safely inside Solomon’s carriage—shielded from the desert heat, protected by mighty warriors, and resting on a seat of love—Believers are enclosed inside the finished work of Jesus.

Being In Him Keeps Us in His Promises

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in Him. That is why it is through Him that we utter our Amen to God for His glory.” — 1 Corinthians 1:20

Jesus doesn’t just hand you a promise from a distance and leave you to navigate the wilderness alone. He becomes the very vehicle that carries you. He’s the environment that shields you, the fortress that protects you, and the safe place where you rest. When the wilderness of life gets violent, or when your own strength fails, remember where you’re seated.

“For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” — Ephesians 2:6

When you belong to King Jesus, you get to ride in the Carriage of the King. You are covered by the true Ark of the Covenant. Being in Him keeps you safely anchored in every single promise He’s made, all the way until He brings you home.

To be in Christ is to understand that you don’t survive by holding onto His carriage but by being inside it. By remaining in Him, your spiritual position changes completely. You become an heir to everything He is. Scripture declares that we’re "heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17), meaning that by default, whatever the Father has given to Jesus belongs to you, so long as you rest inside His finish work. Every promise, every victory, and the very glory the Father bestowed upon Him is shared with you because you’re one with Him.

“I have given them the glory that You gave Me, that they may be one as We are One.” —John 17:22

Let the scepter of Christ dismantle every false teaching about your identity within your heart. Simply rest in His grace, confident that your carriage awaits—so step into His embrace.
