“Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5

The more time we spend with God, the more of His heart He pours into us. Once we understand His heart, we begin to love what He loves and hate what He hates. When we say yes to God and obey Him, we cultivate our relationship with Him and funnel His love to the people around us. Knowing the Father’s heart is the key to opening our hearts to His and allowing Holy Spirit to impart His nature through us. Once we begin to move forward from that place of intimacy, we will start to care about the things that matter most to God instead of what matters most to us.

2 Peter 1:4
“And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

That is how we start to walk out our Christlikeness. Jesus only did what the Father told Him, and we need to learn how to hear from God so we can do the same.

John 5:19
“Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.”

We tend to elevate those who have accolades and degrees as being worthy of our praise. But in Heaven, they rejoice over the one soul who finds Jesus, not their success. See people through God’s eyes. Look past who they are and focus on whose they are. If they do not know, tell them and win their souls for Christ! Accomplishing this demands a mindset transformation, a humbling of ourselves, and a full surrender of our opinions to His.

Luke 15:7
“I tell you, in the same way there will be more joy in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.”

Every soul was created for and by Jesus; we belong to Him, but satan stole us away after the Fall. Jesus then redeemed us back with His Blood on Calvary. Our assignment is to win souls back for Jesus. We are His reward for His suffering. We must, therefore, lay our lives down and decide it is no longer us who live but Christ who lives in us.

Galatians 2:20

“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

When we are led by the Spirit, we become God’s vessels. We are filled with His mercy, allowing us to pour into others everything the Father pours into us. Through our reconciliation, we partner with Him and are made ready to reconcile others to Him. We are saved so we can direct the lost to Jesus. Abide in Him, and He will abide in you. Grow in Him, and He will grow in you. Allow Jesus to live His soul-winning life through you. Allow your spirit to be governed by Holy Spirit, and then your soul and flesh will be governed by Him. To fully surrender, you must overcome self-will; scripture urges us to ‘put the flesh to death’ because it accomplishes nothing. True spiritual alignment means leading with your spirit, then your soul, and bringing your flesh into submission. To know His heart, study His Word—that is our beginning. Keep at it, and winning souls will become as natural as breathing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, my Poiema friends! Wise men still seek Him. My prayer for you is to become a wise seeker of souls this coming year!

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO

Marie Scinto

“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
