“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the Temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore.” Revelation 3:12

There are many references to pillars in the scriptures but none more significant to the Believer than from this month’s verse. Pillar is being used as a metaphor of great honor in this scripture. The statement that the one who overcomes will never leave the Temple is assurance that he will never lose the privilege of being in the presence of God and serving Him.

Oh Beloved, this is where we want to be ~ this is where we need to be! All those in Christ are called overcomers because He has overcome the world.

“In this world you will have tribulation but take courage; I have overcome the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” (1 John 4:4,1 John 5:5)

There is a satanic strategy against the plans and purposes of God for His children but those seated with Jesus are called to rule and reign in this life through His Spirit. Nowhere in the Word of God does it say the Believer is ever to be overcome by their circumstances, in fact, we are only instructed on how to overcome. It is because of His great love for us that we can tap into the resources the Father has stored-up for us in His Temple. The Lord gave us everything we need in His Word. His scriptures are to be used as our weapon of choice against satanic attacks. We are told in Ephesians 6:11 to put on God’s Armor, not ours. The Amplified Bible says, “Put on the full armor of God for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier, so that you may be able to successfully stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.”

Friends, we can securely stand firm, like a pillar of strength, in His love and promises.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Therefore, put on every piece of the Lord’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (2 Peter 1:3, Ephesians 6:13, Ecclesiastes 4:12)

You may have noticed I have a new logo for Poiema. Three connected hearts ~ pillared together ~ standing strong. We are the middle heart connected by Jesus to the Father’s heart. It is because of the prayer of Jesus that we are now connected by His love to the Father. That connection makes us overcomers and we must see ourselves as such in order to stand strong for what is ahead as the final battle and hours of the end of this age draw near. It is what Jesus prayed for in John 17 and it is all we need to overcome.

“Father, I am praying for all who will ever believe in me. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are One—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are One. I am in them, and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began! O righteous Father, the world does not know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.” (John 17:20-26)

Oh, Father God, what an amazing privilege to be identified in Jesus as one with you! What an honor and privilege to have the seal of the indwelling Holy Spirit as a guarantee that we will be permanently established as pillars in the Temple of God. Your love has no boundaries, and your mercies are new every morning. You have graciously given to us everything we need to stand firm and overcome the darkness with your magnificent Light. Oh, what a plan you have for our life! Thank You, Father for joining us in love with Jesus and Holy Spirit. To be called a child of God, and to call you Father is more than enough to make us conquerors in Christ Jesus!

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us!” (Romans 8:36)

ABOUT Marie Scinto

Marie Scinto
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
