“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
I recently had an opportunity to be interviewed about Poiema on a local radio station, WATR, AM. I had misgivings as to my ability to represent the Father’s love and our blog properly through my spoken word. I am much more comfortable in front of a keyboard than I am a microphone. Let’s just say I felt Paul’s humility when it was said about him, “For some say, “His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing.” (2 Corinthians 10:10)
Yes, I will admit, that was my greatest phobia indeed! What I am referring to here is the spirit of fear which causes feelings of rejection. Its root produces many branches which yield rotten fruit in your life destroying your God-ordained purpose and destiny. “But God!” The two most important words in the English language you can mutter in times of great anxiety and distress.
But God carried me through! I prepared, practiced and panicked for a week, only to find myself repeating the Father words that morning, instead of mine. I asked Him before I accepted the invitation, “Father, what do you want from me with all of this?” I heard Him reply, “To reach thousands.”
It was right after that; I was reminded of a prophetic word spoken over me just a few weeks prior that God was going to use me to do that very thing. At that point, I needed to surrender, be obedient to His plan, and trust Him completely with the outcome.
The spirit of fear brings on panic, agitation, distress, anxiety, unease, nervousness, timidity, foreboding, misgiving, doubt, suspicion, phobia, dread, neurosis and mania to name just a few!
If you experience any of these emotions, then you are not fully receiving or understanding the Father’s Love. He wants you to be in perfect Peace. Find out how to receive His Perfect Love by getting into your secret place with Him and meditating on His Word. God is love and He wants to share Himself with you!
“Father God has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. Those who give thanks that Jesus is the Son of God live in God, and God lives in them. We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love He has for us.
God is love! Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them. By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world.
Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection.” 1 John 4:14-19 (Passion Translation) #Acts4Poiema
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
