“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness.” (1 Peter 2:24)

If you daily and continually seek after Jesus by pursuing His Righteousness, it will be very difficult to fall into temptation. It’s hard to sin when you are walking with God.You also do not have to enlist in a spiritual bootcamp to ‘get right’ with God. You only need to accept and receive His Love though Jesus Christ. ‘Accept’ means to believe or come to recognize something as valid or correct. Scripture tells us that Jesus has become our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (1Cor 1:30)

God instructs us to follow righteousness in order to find His Glory. Proverbs 21:21 says, “Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.”

The word ‘honor’ in Hebrew is Kabowd and means the glorious splendor of God. It is saying when you follow after Jesus, you will find God Himself in all His Glory!

If you find yourself stuck in a cycle of sin, I encourage you to drop it as you would a dirty garment and receive the Father’s Love in its place. Our sin nature is what causes us to keep sinning, but God is offering us a Way to partake in His Divine Nature through Jesus, which will help us escape from sin’s grip.

“God has given us His precious promises, so that we may become partakers of His Divine Nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desires.” (2 Peter 1:4)

The Bible tells us that our righteousness is like filthy rags. Jesus said, “Righteousness is available because I go to the Father.” We cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven doing what “we think” is right. We can only enter in one way, through the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

There are over 200 scriptures about righteousness. If you struggle with sin, please take time to read through them. Make it personal and replace the word “righteousness” with Jesus. Let it sink in and free you from your cycle of torment.

ABOUT Marie Scinto

“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
