“God is my keeper; He will never forget nor ignore me.” Psalm 121:3
The word kept in scripture is téréo, and it means to guard, observe, and watch over. Scripture teaches us that those who belong to Jesus are kept by the Father. Take a moment to read Psalm 121 and allow these words to penetrate your heart.
“I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help. But then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator who made the Heavens and the Earth. He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall. God is my keeper; He will never forget nor ignore me. He will never slumber nor sleep; He is the Guardian-God for His people, Israel. He will watch over you; He’s always at your side to shelter you safely in His Presence. He’s protecting you from all danger both day and night. He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as He continuously watches over you. You will be guarded by God Himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and He’ll protect you forevermore!”
Father God promises to watch over us daily when we receive Jesus and keep His Word in our hearts. In John 14:23, Jesus said, “Loving Me empowers you to obey My Word. And My Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place.”
This is how we’re kept by the Lord ~ we love Him. How profoundly simple!
Say this with me now and enter a love relationship with the Maker of the Universe. He wants to become your Father and call you His beloved child.
Father, I’m grateful You have promised to keep me in Christ. I receive His love for me now and make Him my Lord and Savior. I repent of my sins and trust that He has made me right in Your eyes. I acknowledge that I’m now kept for You and kept by You. Thank you for Your lovingkindness. You can keep me from falling into sin. I’m kept, so my salvation is secure. I want to live like I know You are coming back for me. Come Holy Spirit and take over my life. Help me to love Your Word and study it daily. I’m yours. I’ll keep myself in Your love for evermore! In Jesus Name. Amen.
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in Heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by His Power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious Presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.” (1 Peter 1:2-12, Jude 1:24)
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
