“But the one who always listens to Me will live undisturbed in a Heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, you will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life.” (Proverbs 1:33)
When you make Jesus your anchor in the storm, you can be at peace knowing He has a firm hold on you. Even though you are being tossed about by the waves and wind you will not be thrown off course. You are anchored by His outstretched Hand and He will not let you go. He promised that the enemy will not be able to snatch you from His Hand; and He cannot go back on His promises!
When someone is drowning, lifeguards wait until they stop struggling before attempting to rescue them. They do this so the person in distress will not grab a hold of them and drag them under.
How reassuring it is to know that our Heavenly Lifeguard cannot be dragged under no matter how much we jostle Him around in the midst of our chaos. Remember, Jesus said in this world you will have trouble, but to “take heart” because He has overcome it! Read about it in His Word:
“So it is impossible for God to lie for we know that His promise and His vow will never change! And now we have run into His heart to hide ourselves in His faithfulness. This is where you find His strength and comfort, for He empowers you to seize what has already been established ahead of time—an unshakeable hope! You have this certain hope like a strong, unbreakable anchor holding your soul to God Himself. For the Arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. Jesus said, “I give to them the gift of eternal life and they will never be lost, and no one has the power to snatch them out of My Hands.” For God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His Mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Because He loves you, He will rescue you; He will protect you when you acknowledge His Name. When you call on Him, He will answer you; He will be with you in the midst of trouble, He will deliver and honor you; and with long life He will satisfy you and show you His salvation. Everything Jesus taught is so that the peace which is in Him will be in you and He will give you great confidence as you rest in Him. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for Jesus has conquered the world! For the wicked are blown away by every stormy wind, but when a catastrophe comes, the lovers of God have a secure anchor. So cheer up! Take courage all you who love Him. Wait for Him to break through for you, all who trust in Him!”

“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
