“But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like Me who sets you free, He will teach you all things in My Name. And He will inspire you to remember every word that I have told you.” John 14:24-26
Have you ever thought about the fact that we can only describe God with our limited minds? Everything we know about Him comes from the words we have created. If we could conceive of God’s greatness, then He would be less than the human mind. No statement or language can express His Glory. We may not fully understand who God is through our carnal minds, after all, how can we comprehend Living Light? But scripture tells us we can know Him through Jesus, His Spirit and our spirits. The conception of God as He is can only be grasped in one way—through His Holy Spirit.
“For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.” 1 Cor 2:11-1
Some in the Church teach that the supernatural works of the Holy Spirit ceased when the last Apostle died. I say, however, “If God is not dead, then neither is His Holy Spirit’s Power within those who believe!” It is Holy Spirit that does the work of raising our spirits to be in actual communion with God. He introduces into our religious experiences a supernatural element, something not to be comprehended by reason alone. If you have ever met someone that is fully surrendered to the Lord, they seem to have an indescribable joy, understanding and zest for life. When reading the Gospels, we do not see much discernment and boldness coming from the twelve disciples Jesus chose for His apostles. In fact, we saw doubt, fear, deceit, betrayal, piousness and cowardliness. Yet, when we read the Book of Acts, we see a supernatural alteration take place—so what changed them? It was the Holy Spirit!
Jesus promised His disciples the Holy Spirit would come upon them and fill them with power. He told them they would be His messengers even to the remotest places on Earth. After He ascended into Heaven, all the disciples were gathered in one place. They suddenly heard the sound of a violent blast of wind rushing into the house from out of the Heavenly Realm. The roar of the wind was so overpowering it was all anyone could bear, and they were all suddenly filled, equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit just as Jesus had promised. Jesus came to redeem all of mankind, and then sent Holy Spirit to help us walk out the rest of our lives on this Earth. Holy Spirit comes alongside of us and causes us to walk out our God-ordained assignments indwelling us with His supernatural power from on high. The Holy Spirit is not only the revealer of Truth, He is Truth.
“And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like Me—and He will never leave you.” John 14:16-17
The Aramaic word for Holy Spirit is paraqleta taken from two words; praq means “to end or to finish” and Lyta means “curse” — Holy Spirit’s name means to end the curse. He is an enforcer of the blessing. This is what Believers have inside of them — a person who will end or finish the curse. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. He comes to comfort, advocate, protect, defend, teach, correct, counsel, strengthen and intercede for us! He is here to save us from ourselves, and our enemies, and keep us whole and healed. He enforces the Father’s blessings and He indeed is the best friend you could ever have in your entire life.
Friend, if you are reading this and have not received Jesus into your life, I humbly ask you to do so now. Tell Him you need Him and want a relationship with Him and Holy Spirit. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and invite Holy Spirit to be with you always. He loves you so much that He died for you. The wages of sin is death and Jesus paid those wages for your sin. He died in your place and took the sting of death with Him. It was Holy Spirit that raised Him from that place of the dead and brought Him back to His rightful place on the Throne as God, the Son. Jesus came to destroy the works of devil and won! The devil wants to keep this a secret. He is a liar and will find ways to keep you from hearing this Truth. Today say, “No more devil! Jesus is my King and Savior forever more!”
While sin enslaves us, true freedom is found only in Christ. Sin deceives by promising freedom but in reality, all it does is control and corrupt us. Those who do not have faith in Christ are bound by sin and subject not only to spiritual bondage but to spiritual death. Those who find Christ, the One and Only source of spiritual Truth, will truly be set free! The Holy Spirit is called the Breath of God. In John 20:22, Jesus breathed on the apostles and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” We are told in Job 32:8 that there is a Spirit in humans, the Breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding. Beloved, in order to understand all of this you need to breathe the Holy Spirit in, and you need Jesus to breathe Him into you!
“O LORD my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.” Psalm 40:5
Just breathe!
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
