"From that time Jesus began to preach and say, âRepent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." â Matthew 4:17
This verse is a call to align our lives with Godâs, preparing for both the present spiritual reign of Christ and the future manifestation of His kingdom. True repentance is far more than feeling guilty or overwhelmed by sadness; it is a celebration of starting over. It is a revolutionary return to God that shifts our entire life direction. This transformation happens because the rightful King has arrived, and His reign is active among us now.
When Jesus announced that the Kingdom of God was "at hand," He wasnât just talking about a future destinationâHe was announcing a present reality. For us as Believers, this means the authority of Heaven is accessible right now. We donât have to wait for eternity to experience Godâs power; we are called to walk in the physical and spiritual realms simultaneously.
We can begin walking in this dual citizenship by "owning our seats." According to Ephesians 2:6, we are already "seated with Christ in heavenly places." This is a game changer. We arenât victims fighting for victory; we are victors operating from victory. When we face a challenge on Earth, we need to look at it from our seats in Heaven. Letâs remind ourselves that we are diplomats in a foreign land. Our job is to bring the culture of Heavenâjustice, peace, and radical loveâinto our workplaces, homes, and communities. As ambassadors, we carry the full weight and authority of the government that sent us.
âWe are therefore Christâs ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christâs behalf: Be reconciled to God.â â 2 Corinthians 5:20
Walking in both realms requires a constant connection to God. By staying rooted in Scripture and prayer, we allow the Spirit to govern our physical steps. When the natural world says "impossible," the Spirit provides the heavenly blueprint to move forward. As Luke 1:37 reminds us, âFor nothing will be impossible with God.â
Furthermore, Ephesians 1:3 tells us weâve been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Faith is the key that unlocks these resourcesâwhether we need peace for our minds or provision for our families. If it exists in Heaven, we have the right to petition for it to be manifested here. The Kingdom of God is within us. We donât need to go anywhere to find it; we simply need to release it. Because the spiritual realm is superior to the physical, the natural world must yield to the authority of the Kingdom when we walk in true fellowship with God.
Living "at hand" means bringing the "there and then" into the "here and now." Letâs stop waiting for the afterlife and start living the Kingdom life today. Resurrection Sunday is the ultimate proof that the Kingdom of Heaven is not a distant hope, but a present reality. The Resurrection of Jesus was the definitive "starting over" for humanityâa revolutionary return to God that replaced the finality of the grave with the authority of an empty tomb. Because Christ is risen, we are no longer victims of our circumstances; we are victors seated in heavenly places, empowered to bring the culture of life into every "dead" situation.
As Believers celebrate this holy day, letâs remember that new beginnings aren't just a sentimentâthey are a legal right of our dual citizenship. As the Church steps into this season of new life, the same power that raised Christ from the dead is active within us, ready to manifest the peace, provision, and love of the Father in our here and now.
âRepent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.â â Acts 3:19

ABOUT MARIE SCINTO

"You are Godâs girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!â Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in Godâs Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am Godâs girl!
