“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s Temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst.” (1 Corinthians 3:15)
When Father God created mankind, He gave us His Zoe Life from within His Being. He considers each of us special and unique. He calls us His workmanship which comes from the Greek word Poiema; it’s where we get our word poem. A poem is defined as something that rouses strong emotions because of its beauty. You’re the Father’s poem! His Word tells you that He knew you before the world was ever created. When He imagined you, your beauty stirred Him to create you! He thinks you’re beautiful, and His love
created you!
The Greek word Zoe is used in scripture to describe physical and spiritual life. It states that all life throughout the Universe comes only from, and is sustained by, the Creator God’s self-existent Life. He intimately shares His gift of Life with people, creating each in His image which gives all the capacity to know His Eternal Life. Our Father put an immense amount of care into creating us with the intent of becoming a temple or dwelling place for Himself. We’re designed with the same complexity as the Universe!
“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a Holy Temple in the Lord. In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:19-22)
The word temple denotes a dwelling place, and it’s the same word when talking about the Tabernacle that God instructed Moses to build. Read Exodus 25-31 and 35-40 to get a word picture of how valuable this temple was to God. There was a tremendous amount of careful instruction that went into building and maintaining the Tabernacle. The word used to describe God’s Tabernacle is also the same word used to describe our bodies in 1 Corinthians 3:15.
Think about that for just a moment.
God used the same word to describe the Tabernacle in Exodus as He did for our bodies in 1 Corinthians. The Tabernacle, and all whom entered, had to be sanctified and made holy — and so must we before the Father can dwell within us. Jesus is the only way we can be made right, and He is the door the Father uses to enter in.
“For we are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me. Yes, I am the Door. Those who come in through Me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures.” (John 14:6, Romans 3:22, John 10:9)
If you have not asked Jesus into your life this would be the perfect time to do so.
Pray with me: “Father, I want to be a part of Your family. I want to be a Living Temple for You to dwell within. I accept Jesus now as my personal Lord and Savior. I accept my salvation from sin right now. Thank you, Father God, for forgiving me, cleansing me, making me holy, saving me, and giving me eternal life through Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, for making me righteous enough to be called God’s Temple. Thank you, Jesus, for sacrificing Your life for mine. Thank you, Jesus, for sending your Holy Spirit to help guide me through this life and showing me all Truths. Help me to honor You in all that I do, think, and speak. Help me to make the right choices for myself, family and loved ones. Help me to live out Your Will, Your Way. Help me to trust the Truth of Your Word and to believe Your Word over my circumstances. In Your Name I pray. Amen!”
I bless you now as we enter into a new Season. May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace this Easter/Resurrection Sunday.
His has risen! He has risen indeed!
“You are God’s girl and He loves you! You sprinkle His seeds of love wherever you go!” Those words were spoken to me by my husband Joe many years ago. They came at a time when I was questioning my self-worth in God’s Kingdom, purposes, and plans. The Father made sure that in my darkest spiritual hour, I heard His Truth about my identity and self-worth. It has been my passion ever since to deliver that same message to any who may need to hear it. It is not about who we are, but Whose we are, and I am God’s girl!
